Corvallis, Oregon. Al Afalava, Oregon State safety, is in deep trouble. Afalava was driving around in the early morning hours when he collided with a bus stop. The bus structure was ruined. No one was injured because of the accident, but Afalava did not stick around the scene for formalities.
Afalava made it home before police could discover who caused the accident. Lucky for Afalava because he has been charged with DUII. That is always a tough charge to prove when a defendant has been home before the police make the arrest. Who is to say Afalava was not drinking after he was driving when he got home?
Nevertheless, Afalava was also charged with the felony of criminal mischief, and hit and run along with his DUII. Afalava provided a blood alcohol sample of 1.0. The DUI legal limit for Oregon is 0.08.
