Oregon Ducks Rapidly Becoming Thugs of Pac-10 Football

The Duck’s legal misfortunes began in January when their leader, quarterback Jeremiah Masoli, and teammate Garrett Embry stole laptop computers and other items from a home. Having your star player in the spotlight for criminal violations does not make the coach’s job easy nor does it help the perception of the university. However, that incident was merely a taste of idiocy and thug life to come.

On February 16, running back LaMichael James was arrested for domestic violence for allegedly choking his girlfriend. James was charged with five misdemeanor counts and will have a pretrial hearing on March 25. On that same day the Duck’s kicker Rob Beard was busted for brawling in a bar. Beard is alleged to have attack a female. On-lookers came to her assistance and beat Beard so bad he spent a few nights in intensive care. Beard was charged with fourth degree assault.

Then on February 20, Oregon Duck linebacker Kiko Alonso was arrested for DUI. The sophomore is merely a backup to Casey Matthews, but the Ducks do not need any further transgressions from their players. To add insult to injury to this disastrous football program the legendary athletic director, Bill Moos is leaving Oregon to return to his alma mater of Washington State University. Moos will become the next Cougar athletic director. Good timing Moos.

Oregon Duck coach Chip Kelly has surrounded himself with thoughtless and flat out stupid thugs. Of course all the stars that were busted will be “rehabilitated” just in time for the first kick-off to the 2010 season. I suggest all opponents wear bullet proof vests when they take to the field with the Ducks standing on the other side.  Also, never take your eyes off a Duck or you will get sucker punched a la LeGarrette Blount style.
