Seattle, Washington. King County registered 1,408 people injured by drunk driving in the year 2005. There was slight improvement for the year 2006. Only 1,389 people were injured in drunk driving accidents. A total of 48 died in 2006. These stats are for King County only and not the rest of Washington State.
Unfortunately, the Washington Traffic Safety Commission will counter these incidents with their Drive Hammered Get Nailed campaign. This DUI ad campaign will see a boost in exposure starting in August of this year. Too bad that message is misleading. It merely targets drunk drivers. Washington State’s DUI law targets impaired drivers.
