Calvin Schmidtke, from Lakes High School, was headed to Washington State University on an athletic scholarship. Coug fans were quite excited about this additional to the football team. Calvin has racked up accolades for his talent at quarterback. The Tacoma News Tribune selected Calvin as the All-Area Player of the Year, and he received a similar honor from the Seattle Times. Unfortunately, the Calvin will not be wearing crimson for the Cougars.
Instead of honing his skills and gearing up for his first season of college football Calvin has been participating in deviant extracurricular activities. Calvin is facing a list of criminal charges including DUI, reckless driving, minor in possession of alcohol and possession of marijuana stemming for different occasions. Washington State University acted swiftly and dropped Calvin from their 2008 recruiting class. Calvin was not even on the team, but somehow found a way to Coug it.
