Sacramento, California. Onterrio Smith was a baller running back at Grant High School in Sacramento, and for the Ducks at the University of Oregon. Smith’s talents landed him on the NFL scene in 2003 rushing for the Minnesota Vikings. Smith was the leading rusher for the Vikings in 2004, but his promising career was short lived because of drugs. Smith violated the league drug policy on three occasions racking up suspension after suspension. Minnesota cut ties with Smith in 2004.
In 2007, Smith gave an interview with the Sacramento Bee and indicated he was turning his life around. Such battles can be quite difficult and Smith is no exception. Earlier this month Onterrio Smith was arrested for DUI, and had outstanding warrants for driving with a suspended license.
