David Rella is having a rocky college experience. On May 12th the Nittany Lion was released from the Penn State wrestling team for violating team rules. Being removed from the team might be related to his earlier April 17th arrest. Rella was arrested for DUI and minor in possession.
Rella failed to stop for a stop sign, and his night got worse when officers approached his vehicle. Officers allegedly detected slurred speech, bloodshot eyes and smell an odor of intoxicants. The minor registered a blood alcohol content reading of 0.162. Rella admitted to consuming 5 cans of Natural Light. He waived his preliminary hearing and his next court date is yet to be scheduled.
