Nicole Richie Arrested for a Drug DUI

Burbank, California. December 11, 2006.

Nicole Richie, of Simple Life, was arrested for DUI in the early hours of December 11. Nicole Richie was driving in the wrong direction on State Highway 134. During the DUI investigation, Nicole Richie made an admission to consuming the painkiller Vicodin and smoking Marijuana. No drugs were located in her vehicle or on her person. Nicole also "failed" the field sobriety tests. The police tested Nicole Richie for drugs but the test analysis is not yet completed.

California offers two chemical tests to determine if an individual was driving under the influence of drugs. The police officer will request the DUI suspect to provide a blood test or urine test. The samples will then be processed by the criminal lab.

Nicole Richie was arrested in 2003 for Possession of Heroin. Nicole's co-star of the Simple Life, Paris Hilton was arrested for DUI in Semptember of this year.
